Shopping in Pune can be quite a fun experience! There is nothing you won't or cannot find here, all you need is the time. Pune, with its blend of traditional Maharashtrian and Western cultures, is a great place to shop for both Eastern designs and the haute couture of the West. Pune offers shopping options for every individual and every budget.

Most of Pune's regular shopping closes down between one and four in the afternoon. Remember to plan your shopping around this siesta time! Shopping is usually pretty slow on Mondays, when most of the smaller shop-keepers prefer to take the day off.

Laxmi Road

Laxmi Road is a favourite shopping hangout as this is a place where you can get everything ranging from the best of jewellery to the fanciest of sari's. What's more, the shops are open seven days of the week except on Mondays when the shopkeepers prefer to take the day off. Be aware that this place is incredibly crowded so get ready to jostle your way through.

M.G.Road or Camp Area

M.G.Road, popularly known as Camp Area, is not only a shoppers haven but also a perfect place to window shop! The sales that run here just before the festival of Diwali offer great deals.

Dhole Patil road, Koregaon Park and Fergusson College

Apart from the above mentioned areas, Dhole Patil road, Koregaon Park and Fergusson College roads have designer boutiques and shopping plazas that are well equipped to offer a fulfilling shopping experience. You can find everything you are looking for here from traditional handicrafts to knick knacks to spice up tour home. These shops are generally closed on Sundays.

Chor Bazaar

Chor bazaar is a haven for cheap stuff which you will never be able to find elsewhere, or Pune's famed fashion street and Hongkong lane. Trinkets and accessories are available at a fraction of their regular retail price. Don't expect great quality though.

Juna Bazaar

Find a treasure trove in the aptly-named Juna Bazaar or Old Market. Antique coins are casually sold along with mundane accessories like necklaces, screw drivers and door hinges. Many Puneites are unaware that antiques are sold here for a pittance, but visiting foreigners and amateur coin collectors are familiar with this street. You can find anything here, from worn out trousers, old silk saris and even second hand music! Juna Bazaar operates every Wednesday and Sunday on a part of the Vir Santaji Ghorpade Path, near Maldhaka Chowk.
